Board Treasurer


Nozim Ishankulov is a finance professional, policy analyst, and public activist. He currently works in accounting at a national nonprofit organization based in the Washington D.C. area. At Poligon, Nozim serves as the Board Treasurer and assists the organization with the supervision of the finances and accounting. 

Originally from Tajikistan, Nozim was previously the Executive Director of the Tajikistan Free Market Center, a think tank that promoted market reforms in the post-Soviet country. His op-eds and commentaries on this subject have been published and quoted by many national and regional media outlets, including Radio Liberty and Asia Plus. After moving to the United States, Nozim completed internships at several U.S. think tanks, including the Cato Institute, Mercatus Center, and Texas Public Policy Foundation.

He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Commerce and Policy with a concentration in Global Finance at George Mason University. He holds a B.S. in Economics and Finance from the Russian-Tajik Slavonic University. In addition to English, Nozim speaks Russian, Tajik Farsi, and Uzbek.

Outside of work and school, Nozim enjoys teaching personal finance to the public,
consulting on men’s style, as well as volunteering at a Muslim funeral service. Additionally, Nozim is a student of Islamic knowledge; he is currently studying Islamic Law (Fiqh), Spirituality (Tazkiyah), and proper recitation of the Quran (Tajweed) at his mosque.
